I have a 2000 Xtra Cab Prerunner w/ 2.7L auto. It has about 98,000 miles and is in overall good shape. It has a few dings and stratches. It's never been wrecked. It has brand new Bridgestone 31x10.50 Revos and has also been tuned up in the last 15,000 miles. The Motor runs strong and the tranny shifts good.

Edmunds says $10,800 which I think is to high. KBB says $9,000 which seems to low. What would guys try to get out of it?

Or better yet, what might you pay for a truck like this?

 

You will get mixed opinions as to what your vehicle is worth.
Personally, I say it is worth whatever someone will pay for it.
Start out at $11K and negotiate from there.

Might as well start off high and reduce the price as nessesary. Unless you need to unload it quickly for some reason or another.

 

I'm not in a huge hurry to sell. I need a larger more powerful truck and w/ gas prices being high the Full size trucks are at good prices right now and should be for the summer.

If I could get 10,000 out of it I would be pleased.

 

Search local listings online, see what sellers are asking.


My Uncle sold his Taco on E-bay. I think is was a 90 or 91. The buyer was some type of agent who buys and exports to Mexico. Apparently there is a high demand and low supply of Tacos there? They drove to MD to pick the truck up, and paid cash. Sketchy, but the money was real.

i will give you $1000 cash. I think that is more than fair as it is probably only worth $600 in scrap.

 

According to the April 05 NADA guide, Retail is $11,250, Trade-in is $9,200, and loan value is $8,200. So I'd start at the $11,250 and work your way down from there.

I just traded (three mos. ago) in my 99 2.7 Xcab 4wd with about the same mileage as yours, and probably comparable condition. The dealership gave me $7500 for it as a trade in, which was a little more than KBB said I would get. I needed it to get my 03, otherwise, I probably would have sold it outright. I agree with the idea of putting it up and negotiating down from there. Haggling is a lost art...
