Any TIG welders in the group?

I love my new finger tip control on my TIG torch! If you are still using a foot pedal control you have got to try one. I feel like I got rid of a ball and chain around my leg.

Yes, it controls the amperage and turns the gas on and off just like the foot control does. I just have the torch that Miller supplied with the Econo-tig. (Weldcraft, not water cooled). I bought it not sure how hard it would be to control but it is actually easier to control the torch now. Just having the switch strapped onto the torch gives me more leverage and a better handle on the torch. But the real benefit is not having to drag that foot pedal around every time you move to another position. I guess if you are just sitting in one spot at a bench and welding something small the foot pedal is better, but I have been welding things that require I stand up and move around it and the foot control was just like a ball and chain around my leg. Now I can TIG weld sliders to my frame while laying on my back under the truck.

The finger control is expensive ($160), but as long as it lasts a long time it will be well worth it.

Got any pics of this thing-a-majiggy? I have a Synchrowave 180 SD (older model) - do they have an application for this one?

Sounds cool. The pedal is a PIA if not sitting down.

Here you go Cebby: http://community.webshots.com/photo/...10422335cIQkCg

The control wheel is on the other side too. So if you like to switch hands, like I do, you can use your left or right thumb on it. It is just backward when you switch sides, like left-handed the dial turns off moving your thumb up and right-handed you move your thumb down to turn it off.

Yeah Cebby it looks like your's takes the same one, (RCCS-14 Part # 043688), a 14 pin connection. Here is where I got mine: http://www.jandrweldingsupply.com/st...rowave180.html
Look down on the accessories list for your Syncrowave 180. Count your pin holes on your foot pedal plug just to make sure, Miller also makes them for the older 5 or 6 pin plugs too.

Some of the welding supply shops around here have demo units available to try things out for free to see if you like it. That's where I first saw these. There is one place that makes these that has a sliding button on top of the controler, that one might be good too.

Here is a pic of the 14 pin connector from my foot pedal control: http://community.webshots.com/photo/...11050427ENVtbO

Thought there might a little confusion since there is actually only 5 pins used on the 14 pin connectors. My Econo-tig was bought back in 1997.
