Ebay Aisin Hubs

Hey Corey - Thanks for the link - I won this auction for $46 + shipping. Everywhere around here was quoting me $150 per pair. One place was going to make me pull them for that price. Thanks again.

I didn't bid on anything but the hubs. My first auction and I won. Maybe I bid too much? I emailed the seller and he has other stuff not on the auction. I am getting another item from him myself. He might be a good source for obscure stuff. I've asked about other items, we'll see how that shakes out. Corey, sorry for outbidding you. I think there were a total of 9 or 10 bids. 4 or 5 were me. Obviously, it was the last one that counted...

I'm just gettin' ready to Porter Cablelize Todd's hubs here.
I like the classic red & black too. It looks good on a light colored rig.
If I had a dark colored one, I might have painted the hubs blue like Vince did.

How long?
For those of you that have done this mod, how long should it take? If I run out of time in one sitting, can I get one done then do the other later? (As long as I keep the manual one locked?) My modding time is frequently interrupted...

I did this mod and the hardest part was getting the cone washers out (see my write up in the tech section). After I knew what I was doing, I think it took me about 45 minutes per side which includes jacking up the truck, removing the wheel, etc.

Got 'em
I got my hubs over the weekend - Fed Ground left them on the front porch and I didn't see them until this morning...
Of course I had to stop and open them on my way to the office this morning...
First impression - man are these things filthy!! Nothing a bath can't cure. I was amazed at how solid feeling these are. One thing that seemed odd to me. The hub body (not the dial or trim around the dial) was painted red (alot worn off though). Was this a factory finish? All the hubs I've seen had a black body. I'm repainting them, so no biggie - just found it odd.

Yep. I think the body is factory unfinished. I just scored a pair this weekend for $30 (Canadian). I don't need them but it was such a deal! I have in my hands as we speak a rag and the snap rings. Just trying to get them clean.
I painted my first pair factory colours but I'm going with a black outer ring and John Deere Green for the dial this time. I'll post some pics when done.
