I've been reading threads all day trying to find info on this. I've some useful but everything I've read is for 22re. People say I only need 3 lines, which lines are the?? Pics and any info would be so helpful

 

From your title of the thread but the question you ask, are you asking for which three vacuum lines to delete? Or are you asking for which three lines you need to save after deleting the EGR?

 

I only use the two coming off the distributor one goes to the carb and the other goes to your timing advance. make sure what's not hooked up is capped.

only need 2 vacuum lines - one from the distributor (Normal/ported advance - the port closest to the radiator) to the carb and one from the distributor (Idle/Manifold advance - the port closest to the head) to the manifold. And you'll have a larger vacuum hose going to your manifold if you want to run the brake booster (recommended). Cap EVERYTHING else.

hey kawasakizx636 where did you get that oh soo sweet looking fuel pressure regulator?

 

It's a Holley fuel pressure regulator (1-4 psi) with a Mr Gasket gauge (I'll probably get a different gauge with that goes from 1-8 psi instead of 1-15 psi). The Holley regulator comes with the mounting bracket that I used to attach it to the manifold. I think I got it all from Summit Racing, but some chain auto stores stock it too.

I am trying to figure this out aswell. PO just capped everything i ran the hose from distributor to carb but whats the other one? Pictures wont load. Thanks for any help. This truck is kind of a train wreck under the hood.

 

hose #1 Runs from the carburetor, to the distributor (outlet closest to radiator)

hose#2 Runs from distributor (outlet closest to cylinder head) to vacuum/ and or manifold advance

Thank you. That was exactly what I have been looking for. The intake port (assuming this is right) was not caped but actually plugged so I was not even aware it was there. The motor purrs for the first time. Thank you for all of the advice.

Have been screwing with it for a few days now.... It's a 84 with an 86 carb, ran with very high idle when cold started, now I'm going to do an egr delete because I heard it makes them run better, and I'm lost there are a few differences between 84-86 and I'm not sure what I need/don't need.

 

What you need for hoses:
-Distributor vacuum advance (one or two vacuum hoses depending on which distributor you have)
-Brake booster vacuum hose
-Heater hose (assuming you keep your heater)
-Radiator hoses
-Fuel lines (Assuming you have a mechanical fuel pump - one return from the pump to the tank, one supply form the tank to the pump and one supply from the pump to the carb)
-PCV hose

Sensors/wires need on the engine:
-Oil pressure dummy light sensor
-Oil pressure gauge sender (if you have one)
-Water temp sensor
-Distributor pickup plug
-Coil wire
-Electric choke (if you have one)
-Ground cables
