No heat and its cold!

Just picked up a 94 pickup the other day and I'm having problems with the heat. It gets hot, but it does not blow out, so I know I need to start checking blower components. Fuse was good. The service manual shows those components located under the passengers side of the dash. I was wondering if you remove the glove box and kick panel if you can get to them? Or am I forced to remove the entire dash?

RC's write-up is fantastic for troubleshooting this.

my experience is that if it doesn't work on all speeds, i check the switch first since it's easier to get to, and you can swap in a junkyard switch real quick. then i check the fan motor because you can get to it in the pass. footwell easily.

if it works on high, but not the lower speeds, i suspect the resistor pack.

but that's not a rule, just my experience.

Alright got to the blower (and realized I accidentally posted this in the 85 section, sorry guys). Now trying to figure out how to get the thing out of there. Must have to be a contortionist. Will check switch.

just posted this link yesterday, might help you too:

if the fan's like mine, should drop out the bottom with 3 screws on the underside.

Fan is fine. On to the next thing. Checking the relay but the FSM confused me. It says to test terminal 1 and 3, but instead of a straight line connecting the two on the diagram, it is a spiral. What does the spiral stand for? Sorry if thats a dumb question.

Add: okay I guess it means inductor, but how should it test? FSM just says test for continuity.
