I did a search, but did not come up with an answer to this question.

I would like to replace the worn out stock rear springs on the 01 4runner i purchased this week. I do not want to lift the truck at all. However, i would not mind a stiffer spring in the rear if one is available.

I have searched all over the internet, but i am having a difficult time finding stock replacement springs for the rear. Can someone please recommend a brand and the best place to buy replacement springs. Oh, and if you have any experience with a stiffer spring, that would be great too.

Doubt you will find a replacement stock ride height coil spring.
No demand thus no supply.

Yeah, i am sure the dealer wants 400 a pair easy. They are ridiculous. They wanted 450.00 just for the muffler.

 

You can get new coils for about $75 - that is what I paid for '99 springs for my Runner, I got them from the dealer. You don't have to worry about findind ''stiffer" springs - new ones will be fine. Your probably driving on worn out springs that the previous owner beat the mess out of and that's why they feel like mush.

 

Call http://www.toyotapartsales.com/partl...?siteid=214074 they have some of the best prices. If you replace the rears with stock coils it should take the sag out of the rear and level it back up. The rear may sit higher than the front with the new coils but it did when new.

 

stock NEW stock springs, then get bilstein shocks you will have nice STIFF ride. enjoy and keep us posted what way you choose

 

Hey, I lifted my truck and I could sell you my stock springs and shocks if you were interested.

I have an 02 Limited 4x4 and I can look for pictures before the lift. My springs weren't sagging when I removed them...

Sonoran Steel has a rear lift that you might be interested in. It sounds like what you are wanting as it is not a "lift", but does offer more support and also better suspension parts. You could also call them as they would be able to help you with just parts too I am sure.

I appreciate it, but i have already ordered the quick struts for the front from monroe. I ordered new shocks for the rear. I think the springs in the rear of the truck are made too light. I am going to look for something stiffer, even if i have to buy something and remove a coil from it.

 

The rear coils in that lift kit is what you are describing.

Those coils will not give you any lift and be stiffer and better then stock.
