3vze intake/vacuum line question.

3vze intake/vacuum line question.
hiii everybody
got a quick question.. ill give you the run down. Friend in his 92 4runner 3.slo auto seized up his engine due to low oil.. got another engine with 180,000km from a 92 auto, both are earlier versions of the 3vze.
Did the swap, made me glad i had a 22re lol
but im confused, when i removed the engine i did a decent job on marking all the vac lines on the passenger side area, when i had the new engine on my stand i noticed that two of the vac lines were plugged( looks like factory) and the one im removing didn't have any plugs..
Ill show you pics of what im talking about.. i just finished the swap tonight and have zero vac lines laying around left in the engine, but i left the lower vac plug in.. can anyone point me in the right direction if everything is hooked up?
Looking down into the passenger fender...
I got this little doohickey...

Hooked up like so.. I think i removed one cap off the lower port..

Then, i have what i think is something todo with the fuel/evap line?

This is the intake off the seized engine, i think the two i circled were the two that had the caps on it on the new engine..

any help would be fantastic...

Did the truck the "new" engine come from have A/C?
Check out this thread, it might be what he's talking about also: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...-lines-140925/

hiii everybody
The first circled thing is a VSV for the A/C, one end goes to the intake plenum, one end to the intake box. EDIT: the circled is actually the A/C actuator

The upper arrow is the brake booster line, the lower arrow goes to a pipe near the fire wall and fuel lines.

You gotta love the 3VZ-E

That's the A/C idle-up valve/actuator/ASV(pretty sure one line, the outlet, goes to the plenum, the other, the inlet, goes to the air cleaner). The small diameter vac line goes to the VSV for it.

The upper one is for the brake booster(confirmed), the lower needs recapped(or is possibly for the A/C idle-up valve/actuator/ASV outlet hose, if you can't find where it goes)and one of the lines from the power steering idle-up valve/ACV(outlet)goes to the smaller tube below that sticks out of it(99% on that, that's how mine is anyway, no A/C so that's why I'm not sure about the other).

What you have your finger on is a fuel line.

1 is like I said, the power steering idle-up valve/ACV outlet(smaller), and recap or A/C idle-up valve/actuator/ASV outlet(larger). 2 is either for the other power steering idle-up valve/ACV inlet line from the intake silencer, or something else(not sure, possibly the A/C idle-up/actuator/ASV inlet).

Mine has the cap and again, no A/C.

Doesn't really matter where both the hoses are routed to. So long as one(inlet)is recieving clean/filtered air from the intake silencer(box connected to the intake air hose). And the other(outlet)is connected directly to the plenum chamber.
Here's the schematic. It's also sometimes refered to as an ACV(Air Control Valve). But since it raises the idle speed, idle-up is layman's terms. The intake silencer isn't shown.

Take a look at this thread: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...e-help-209069/ In the OP there is a photo with numbers on all the fittings and in post #11 all the hoses are identified, corresponding to the numbers in the picture. Take care,

You nailed it! I wonder how many of us there are that know these things off the top of our heads? Very few, I'd imagine. The only one I wasn't 100% sure on was the A/C idle up hoses. Now I'm officially 100%. Thanks man!

muahahaha got her fired up! thanks everyone.
btw, it was out one tooth. I had it perfectly on TDC and had the dist at sparkplug #1 and with the dist fully turned clockwise it would sometimes idle really really low. so i put the dist back one tooth and she fired right up... timing belt must be outta wack.
