1988 4runner that i want to put on a 1985 pick-up frame

i have a 1988 4runner that i want to put on a 1985 pick-up frame for the solid axel. is this possible for a direct bolt, and just put my 22re in or not the pickup engine is a 22r

very possible. Just a body swap? or are you going to swap over a couple of the "more desireable" parts from the 4runner (rear axle, steering box if you think you will go high steer, brakes etc...) regardless it should work. Even if the body mounts dont line up make some.

why not just use the front axle on the 88 and get a SAS kit?

^ Because that would be much to easy.
Unless the 4R fame was bent to who knows where or rusted out.
There has to be an underlying reason.

Yea, just do an axle swap, it would be a whole lot easier and a lot less work.

there is a method to my madness the frame was modified with chevy springs and dana 60's , i do think an sas would be easyer but where is the fun in taking an easy way i love to fab and if i could pll this off my truck would be a tank

It will not be a direct swap. The mounts are different, and will have to be fabbed to make it work.
