You should extend your bumpstops.....your springs will thank you. You could also move your axle forward a tad with these: http://allprooffroad.com/index.php?o...ask=view&id=51 because, if you're like me you don't want to hack up your clean fenders!--------Hans

are your lift springs longer than stock? if so it looks like you need to move you shackle hanger back more.

Good advise x2 I will do both asap

I think my springs are same length as stock. I still have them somewhere so I will check.
What is the proper angle for the rear shackle relative to the spring at level unloaded? I have been thinking longer aftermarket shackles and brackets as well.

Pics of proper angle level unloaded would help greatly.

I took a picture but I can't seem to shrink it enough to post it. The shackle is at about a 40 degree angle to the frame unloaded on my stock springs. I hope that helps.

Thanks jodaddy that does help, stock setup should be right. If I can replicate that on my setup. this is what mine looks like unloaded. Does this look right?

and front unloaded-level ?

Short of moving the shackle hanger (cut and re-weld) you probably just need a longer spring shackle to handle the length change of the springs:

If you use longer shackles check your driveline angles. If you are wondering what that is research the links listed above before you ask.

looks like longer shackles are the answer I will do the math tomorrow to find out how much longer. But from the 3" lift springs it sounds like 2" or so, I would like to be able to order the shims at the same time as I am running out of time before my trip. I think I can figure that pretty close by drooping the springs to represent the longer shackles then checking the driveline angle.
thanks everyone for the help!

You can follow the steps on my first link to figure out exactly how long a shackle you need. Or if you have the old springs, measure their arc length (i.e. along the arc of the springs, eye-eye) and that of the new springs and then size the shackle 1" longer for each 1" extra arc length:

The simpler the better for me, always!
Just checked arc length is 1" longer than stock on 3" lift rough country rears and 1/2" longer than stock on 3" lift Downey fronts.
Stock shackles are 3.5" hole to hole
I think I will keep the stock front shackles and order a 1" longer rear set.
Driveline angle looks good, I have shims from the rough country kit installed.
Thanks again!
