I doubt you'd see any increase in performance unless you have a turbo model. If that's the case, you could install it between the downpipe and the cat for better flow since turbos don't really like a lot of back pressure.

Probably only a few more ponys, unless you do the whole exhaust. I bet you'd see a few more MPG's tho.

It looks like a sweet idea to me. That way you have the best of both worlds!

no mine isnt a turbo .. as much as i would love that spooling sound mating with the whine of my power steering pump. im doing it mainly cause i dig the sound of open header and a muffler..but i dont dig tickets i have an aftermarket header and 2.5 inch to a high flow cat and a big turbo diesel magnaflow to keep her real stealthy..
i was thinking about installing it right before the cat, like right up against it so i get some straight pipe action.

what do you guys think? is there a company that makes a 'manual' one? like cable actuated, not the one with the wing nuts..

is that cast iron? holy h3ll they only make them in 2" i hear.. and people say that the butterfly valve NEVER fits and always needs tuning..
so i think im gonna go with the electronic.. do you need that controller ($110 more) or does the toggle switch handle all of it?

the toggle switch, the valve, the controller, the whole 9 yards, you know?
my buddy did it to his 78 dodge motorhome with a 360, but what it got him wasnt worth the price, but hes happy with it, so i guess thats all that matters
