Hello all, So my 1985 4Runner 22re has had a rough idle for like three months. It's been on and off and now it's the worst it's ever been. I've replaced so many parts and finally did a leak down test. Well cylinder #3 has no compression

Anyhow, I have an engine ordered placed from 22reperformance but I had a question. Is it ok to keep driving my 4Runner? Can I do any damage to the exhaust or anything? I'm getting a new intake as well so I'm not worried about that.

Anything I can do to make it better short term? I have to wait till December for my engine! Hope it's worth it. Also, kinda nervous about putting in the motor myself. Any good videos or tips?

The worst it can do is lock up and break the weakest part of the driveline

Most likely leaving you sit in the worst possible spot .

Then it really depends just what the problem is .

Why must you wait till December for a engine ??The vendor that backed up ??

Did you investigate where the leakage originates from? First I would do a valve adjustment to #3 cylinder and redo the test, to make sure the valves are not the cause.

It looks to be the rings. Valves are adjusted and in spec.

22reperformance is backed up for months. But I'm gonna wait cause I've heard great things from their engines and this is for sure my keeper truck.
