Question factory sunroof questions

did the 89-95 trucks ever come with a factory sunroof? i know the 84-88s did, because we have one in the shop i work at and it says toyota on the glass. i have a 92 2wd standard cab and would like to install one. just a simple pop up back style. possibly modify it to release the glass if i want, for nice days.

anyways, i dont want to have to weld anything if i can avoid it. but it is an option. i dont care about cutting a big hole in the roof. i noticed on the 85 we have though, its actually in a recessed lip to be level with the roof. wouldnt that area plus a bit of the roof have to be grafted into the new one?

also, since i have a headliner, i dont know: is the roof single or double walled in the area it would be installed in? i know some trucks cab single walled, like first gen dakotas.

maybe its easier to find an aftermarket one to fit. any options?

For the trucks i believe they did have the pop ups, my 92 runner had the electric sliding glass.
heres a link to an aftermarket ragtop that was installed on a runner

My '90 X-tracab has a manual flip-up or remove sunroof. I'm not sure whether standard cabs ever had the option, though.

I believe that one like mine would fit, but it would be a major PITA project to do it. A good quality aftermarket one would seem like a better prospect, IMO.

my 95 4runner came factory w/ electric slidin glass. i know one thing, the factory sliding glass can make the headliner sag bad if you accidentally let moisture get in between it and the roof.
