I had a friend who used steel wool to get the water spots off of his fox body mustang windows.... They looked awesome. I think it was time consuming though.

use vinigar and newspaper, works like a charm. put the vinigar in a spray bottle.

Edit: And then wash with normal window cleaner.

I would think that a claybar would take them out too.

CLR Calcium/Lime/Rust remover for the bathroom works well to.

SOS pads, a little effort needed with these.

Then use windex or some other glass cleaner afterwards.

You can also use buffing compound.

When you buff your truck, buff the windows. Works same. =)

Believe it or not, a few days ago I had the Never Dull out and was going over the chrome on my truck and I had a bug to try it on the glass for some reason and it knocked my socks off. I ended up doing all the glass including the side mirrors and was blown away by the result.

It ate off all the hard deposits and even most of the scratches and then smoothed it out like a baby's butt.

Try it out if you can. It's calle dNever Dull and it is for polishing metal. The only thing it says to not use it on is laquer.

Call me chicken though but I did not do the windshield. I use Rainx on that.

What you have is probably not hard water spots, but sun spots/acid rain etchings. I use this stuff made by Duragloss, it will take any kind of spot off your glass. After using it, then apply Rainx, and you will not get any more spots.

Bar Keeper's Friend is what barkeepers use on glass and stainless steel to really clean things up. It works great on windshield glass, but you have to be extremely careful not to get any on the paint. I've used it on really crudded up windshields and they came out extremely clear. Be sure to read the warnings on the can
