Does anyone have a picture or diagram of the heater ducts for a 1990 toyota pickup dlx??? I took the whole dash apart today to install a new fan speed module and controls (I cracked the tabs on the old unit and it was bugging me so I replaced it) The driver side vent hasn't worked since I bought the truck. After taking the dash apart I realized there's no duct from the center console to the drivers side duct (makes sense). I've been searching for the toyota part. Is oem an abs plastic piece or is it just a 2.5"? piece of hose? The vent end is square. Do you just stretch a round hose over it? My chilton's doesn't show a diagram. (Side not)I replaced the parking brake cable as well

 

On the older trucks (mine's a Gen1 4Runner), the duct is thin somewhat flexible plastic. Think Milk Jug, but not as flexible (if that makes any sense)

The duct comes to a "rectangular" end that fits against the vent side.
There is a tin (1/4") line of open cell foam "sticky back" taped to the connection to "seal" it.
By now that foam turns to dust when you touch it.

I doubt yuu can get the part from the dealer.
Best bet is someone parting out a matching generation truck

 

Here is a duct diagram from Toyota Parts Overstock. It appears the duct is made of molded plastic, similar to what I have on my 1987 Pickup.
Does this look like the part you are missing?

I would go to a salvage yard and get an exact replacement from another truck.

This is a weirdly rare part to find...salvage yard may be the way to go. I also need the steering column plastic molding in grey as 2 of my screw points are broke. I'm trying to give the truck some much needed love (cosmetically) mechanically it's very solid. Doing rear diff oil this morning and got some new taillights to install as well.

 

Oh and it looks like I need all 3 of those plastic bits to hook up that heater vent

 

There are some salvage yards across the country that would mail you that part if you dont have one locally. B@B Import Salvage in Nixa Missouri would when I last talked to him.

No problem... I appreciate the effort none the less. on a side note the battery gave out this afternoon. so it now has a new 770cca battery and fresh differential fluid. it's slowly getting better.
