assesories - system tools - system information and look for RAM it usually only gives the amount.
the best way if you don't have the build sheet or build it yourself is just open the case and look at the label on the RAM in the system

You are running the same chip I am if you have the 800 FBS one (C chip).
More than likely you have PC3200 RAM, which must be installed in pairs to take advantage of the 800 FBS.
It will help if we know what mobo you have too.
If you don't have the C chip, then your 2.4 is the 533 MHz one, and not the 800 FBS one.
Also you can download the free version of Si Soft Sandra from here.

It will tell you lots of stuff about your PC including the RAM speed.

I use to use sisoft sandra until I used PC Wizard 2004......works even better!
Download it here:
http://www.cpuid.com/download/pcw2004_v163.exe
Then install and run the program, click on "physical memory" and voila, all your RAM specs!
It will tell you how many slots you have, how much in each and what type it is.
