Which speakers to get?

First off, let me say, I am not an audiophile.
I like a stereo that sounds good, but I've lived w/ the stock speakers this long, so anything will be an improvement.

One of my rear speakers blew the other day, so I figure it's past time for an upgrade.
Im running a Pioneer head unit (see my sig for specific model). I will not be getting a seperate amp to push the speakers.

So first order of business:
5 1/4" rear speakers. I've already ordered the adapter plate for 5 1/4" speakers off Ebay.
I dont want some dual-cone crap speakers, but something middle of the road.
Would you suggest something like a decent Kenwood 2 (or 3) way speaker?
Or should I try to get Pioneer's to match the head unit?
Something else?

6.5" Front Components
I'm willing to go a little better quality for the fronts, since that's where I sit.
I saw some Infinity Reference components on Ebay for under $100.
I know Infinity makes some good stuff, but how about these?
Other suggestions?

Thanks!

Check out the Focal Access line at woofersetc.com. These speakers run $349 at Cartoys....Woofersetc has them for $189 (I have made two orders from them and they are very reliable). Focal makes high quality, audiophile grade speakers; You will not be disappointed. I have them in my 4runner front and back and they sound awesome. I have had several people ask if I have a sub installed due to the excellent bass response, but I do not. I planned on installing one but changed my mind after installing these. I have 6.5" components front and rear. There are several threads where I show pictures of my 6.5" installs. I know you already ordered your adapters, but I also show how I did the 5.25" rear install (did this first then changed to 6.5"s)

I have also used Polk Audio, Kenwood and Alpine. I have had bad luck with Alpines (quality and durability). I really like the Polk speakers; They are very warm sounding, and they have several affordable lines. There are a lot of high end brands out there, but they get pricey fast.

Have fun!

That sucks... If you had 150 you could get some CDTs

These are pretty nice for 150, I installed these in a friend's car and was amazed. Good mid bass response, nice highs, loud but not harsh with only 50 watts per channel.

i want to do the same thing, I have an alpine unit pushing 27 watts rms to the speakers, so i don't want to add a 4 channel amp yet. But what is a cheap upgrade for me hopefully all under 100, front and back?

Should I just get these for the front from teh classifieds???????
