Man,I can't believe I'm seeing a Samsung 40" LCD for under $800 so heads up for people thinking about a new LCD and I saw a Sharp 46" for $900.

Anyone have any experience with the Sharp 42" LC42SB45U LCD HDTV? It is 1080p. Dell has it on sale for $799 w/ free shipping through 12/3:

Seems like a pretty good price and decent specs on the display.

Roger, see if Best Buy and Amazon have that model too, and if they do, they include reviews on their site on it.

I read a ton of reviews on the one I settled with, and they were very positive.

Neither site has reviews on that model. There are some (all positive) on Dell's site.

Do it! I got the same model except 720p, and I love it. I use it for AT&T U-Verse, and watching all sorts of movie from my PC, and also browsing the web and stuff.

Think I may pass on this one, found some reviews on CNet.com and a few folks reported some minor issues with this low end model and one ended up exchanging his for a Aquos model. In the same size, those run about $200 more, but according to the one guy the extra was worth it. May wait a while and see if the higher end models hit the lower price point. Also noticed that the response times were slower and the contrast ratios were lower on this model compared to the better ones.
