Corey you are getting all those emails because people can't "get" to YT to see the announcement page
To those of you that have made it here don't turn off the whole blocking feature in google/firefox...
Click Tools... Options... Security... Exceptions... then type in www.yotatech.com in the box... OK...
this will allow YT while maintaining max. protection from everything else out there.
If you have unchecked the blocking feature do the above and re-check the blocking box to get your protection back.
remember Halloween is coming and the zombie armies are looking for more new victims every day...

It leaves the warning system active while "allowing" YT.
If you turn off the whole blocking feature you open your computer to possible attacks that your virus software might miss.

I for one actually got a virus that was tracked back to this site......ON MY WORK COMPUTER!!! Really upset about it. The IT guy that was brought in to fix it said that it was from the ads. If YT was having problems, how come the administrator did not send out a warning? Looks like no more YT for me from work. All of the crap about language and keeping the site "work freindly" only to have this happen?

Sorry to hear you had a problem like that robb we have no control over the ad content here sometimes it is caused by ads posted/linked by other members. There has been a recent issue that is reportedly being caused by a pic hosting site used by one of the members. We are working to find the pic(s) in question but you can imagine with the sheer number of images/posts to go through it is a major undertaking. The IT guys are working on it and expect to resolve the issue soon.
If you can pm me specifically which ads your IT guy flagged I can pass the concern on to our IT guys and we should be able to fix the issue.

Thank you aviator. I will see if I can get the specific ads from the IT guy, however I am trying to lay low on the issue b/c I am in a little bit of hot water over the whole thing, not trying to bring it up again.

that exceptions box even states that it is for the add-ons.
I can take a screenshot if needed, but I know for a fact this does not work on my firefox which is the latest version. no other "exceptions" box in anywhere in the tool section except for add-ons, popups and loading images automatically.

I tried this again and with the box checked for the attack site warning even if yotatech is in the exceptions warning still appears.
that exceptions box even states that it is for the add-ons.

I click tools... options... security.. and i get a pop up with 3 sections one for passwords one for warning messages and the top one with 3 checkable boxes for one for add-on install warnings one for attack site blocking and one for blocking web forgeries... this section has an exceptions box... clicked it got pop up...I typed in our url clicked ok pop up closed clicked ok again options box closed...
then logged in to YT and all was well no more warnings...
are you sure you are looking at the right exceptions box? there are several under content that deal with pop ups and the like... the one that open under security says it only applys to add-ons yet when I did it it worked... weird...

if 3.6 is out I wonder why they only just gave me 3.5.14 to beta test?
anyways... that's the same screen I get except I have the attack site blocker checked as well and a whole slew of blocked sites in that second window...
in any case it appears the IT guys have fixed it thanks Robb...

A HUGE thanks to Robb for fixing this, and to Corey for managing all the emails. We are very sorry for the trouble, but again it was embedded in a user picture, and them possibly reported to Google by a banned disgruntled user. Google doesn't seem to care who reports it, and all of the sudden we were on the hot seat! Now that we have been through this, looks like Google should be a little more careful!
