not a bad deal if you dont wheel it hard, as soon as you start pushin 35's and gettin on it your going to be breaking everything behind the crankshaft, if you going to do moderate wheeling and pick your lines sounds like a pretty sound setup though,

Yeah, i kinda figured that. I dont plan on doing anything to serious for now. I also have a 85 toy with a completlyl rusted out frame so i might swap in all the toy running gear at somepoint down the road. I think i might get it just to have something to play around on the farm with for now.

you should think that if you were to swap toyota drivetrain in it, more then 1/2 the mods wont work anymore.

just something to ponder.

Just swap in the Toy axles and leave everything else as it is.

a sami has an offset rear axle...would running a toy axle work with the sami t-case? can you just use a cv driveshaft or something?

i'd love to have a sami as a trail rig, but i think i'm just going to stick to the yota as a dd/trail rig until i can afford the funds for an fj60 as a dd, and turn the toy into what it should be -- a toy

I wouldn't necessarily drive it down the highway but as a trail rig I wouldn't worry too much about it. Think of it this way, just about every wheeling rig out there has an offset diff, most are just offset vertically.

the reason i say that the mods wont work though is the suspension is made for a sammie axle, it would be kinda hard to swap in toyota axles without changine suspension, it can be done, but it would be difficult

How is cutting and welding the brackets back on difficult? You dont need to re-design the entire suspension to put a wider axle in.

yeah but i havent looked at the brakets, not to mention the toyota front axle's spring mount that connects to the 3rd may be a problem, im not saying it cant be done, im just saying think of everything before you buy and screw yourself, personally i would buy it, i was just offering a different perspective on the situation,.

I agree that it sounds like a deal.. I'd buy it. Your getting a coiled, linked, locked sammie for Three grand. I know people with more than that in an axle. Get it and wheel it.
