How easy is it to remove the rear fender panels on an 88 4runner?

How easy is it to remove the rear fender panels on an 88 4runner?

Is there cutting involved and welding to put on the new ones? Or is everything just bolts? Anyone have any pics?

You have to cut the old one off, and weld or glue a new one on. If replacing with metal, welding would be better.

I guess you could bolt it on, but it would look really bad.

It is an involved process cutting all of the old spot welds off, grinding surfaces flat, fixing rust, and welding on new ones:







If you have not welded thin sheet metal before, it can be tricky at first.

I did that back in high school, so it wasnt a very speedy process. A couple weeks from start to finish maybe? It will depend on your prep work, how you weld it, and the amount of rust you need to repair underneith.

I didnt want to spend the time and money to buy full replacement panels but it would of been nice
