Awesome! does anyone know where that photo was taken?

It definately beats any "winch challenge" I've seen.
How do you reckon the roll cage/occupants would fair if the cable snapped? (serious question)

Also, what's the line running down from the rear winch?

Asylum perhaps, I forget for sure. Search on PBB to find out for sure and to see more awesome pics.

On the front, I would be there is the rigs winch and a secondary winch off the rig in front of him just to have redundancy. The rear winch line is like the rig behind him so that no one has to scale that face to run cable for the next guy.

I am not sure that rig pictured with the cable is the Sami because the Sami on the site really is short on sheetmetal.

That particular cage does NOT look well constructed and I definately WOULD NOT trust it in a serious rollover. It is missing a couple simple elements of basic cage design. You couldn't get me in that rig on that trail with that cage...

What kind of axles are you going with? If you are going with a full toyota setup (including the t-case) you will want toyota axles or 80+ Full size waggy 44s. a lot of people run the zuk t-case because it is divorced and considered to be fairly strong and you can get 6:1 gears for them...

yeah i wouldnt trust that cage....

i plan on running the meanest cage in the world, my dad is in the hostpital today cause he hit some ice/oil or something slick on the freeway off ramp and his 92 pickup rolled on it, he broke his neck, and is in surgery right now to get the 7th vertabrae replaced with peice of his hip-bone, he will be out in a couple hours, so im praying for the best, right now he isnt paralyzed and things are looking for the best of the situation actually.....

oh, and i plan on running toyota axles, divorced sammie case, with 4:1 gears or something.... not sure yet, but im running a 4.3l chevy 6cyl with a 700r trans.... should be complete by spring break if i can get the funding which is pretty tight right now.

ok, heres some updated plans,

i had a 4.3l chevy s-10 blazer lined up as a donor truck, was going to use the engine to rear axle and whatever else i could find, but then i decided to back up into a poll yesterday ruining the taco's door, so i had to resort to plan b. i have a 1983 s-10 pickup with a 2.8 and a 700r4 going to use the engine to rear axle again, probably going to find a good 10 bolt front to macht the rear,

ill keep you posted again!

O GOD NO!!!!!!!!! anything but the 2.8, that motor was compete and total crap. every once in a great while you will find a decent one, but they are very rare.

you will be much better off with the toyota axles than 10bolts. if you look at those funny they grenade. ive already destroyed my gov lock giving it too much throttle arround a corner. but if you really want to go 10bolt,(please reconsidder) make sure you pull a newer one (87+ i think, maybee it was 88, ill check on it) so that you at least get 30 spline.

edit: 89 and above 10 bolt fronts were 30 spline.

i havent done to much research on the 10 bolt yet, i know that they proabably aint that good, but i know that if i i use those axles for now, i can get yota axles with lockers and a full floater rear with disk brakes this summer.....not to positive yet and everything is not set in stone, i know the 2.8 isnt that good either, but i know that a 4.3 is, and i can wait a year to get that motor, i know this one runs, and i know some history so im not to afraid.
