so far so good. the hose hasnt melted. no noticable performance gain which i never expected anyhow, and i get a slight whistle sound from the air going thru the expandable hose. doesnt bother me though. now to create my own front leaf spring packs.

E-roc Have you noticed a decrease in engine temps? That is normally a benefit of a hood scoop due to the extra air flowing through the engine bay.

the air goes directly into the air intake box and does not flow onto the motor itself. as far as toyota motors go anyhow, they usually run at the normal temp no matter what you try to do to them. if you want cooler operating temps try using a lower thermostat. maybe that will help.

it wasnt the hose whistling, it was my belt tensioner going out. oh, and there is no signs of rubbing on the bottom of the elbow. guess its time to put a little silicone on to seal up the connections good.

Wait, this hood scoop has to be functional. Isn't it essentially a cold air intake? I mean the airs not having to run through the fender or anything just through the hose and into the box.

yeah it makes it a cold air intake since the air comes from outside of the engine compartment. and i cleaned the filter before i put it back( its k&n ).
