Agreed! So then we'll do Martinez Cabin...Jeff is checking with another friend to see if he can lead the way. I'm still waiting to hear from him as to if he's heard from his friend or not. Either way, I'm going and if I get lost, I get lost. This should make for an interesting outing. YEEHAW!

I'd definitely be down for a Crown King run next Sunday!

Another option would be the Coke Ovens by way of the 79. It's also rated at a 3 and has a lot of cool obstacles along the way. Both have moderate challenges but are do-able with a stockish rig and good driver. Just my $0.02.
The entire Martinez area is closed now. Coke Ovens is a good time, as long as the river is crossable - I was other there not too long ago and there was only a few inches of water so it as no problem but there have been times we've gone out there and there was like 10 ft of water.

My frineds Kyle and Bill will be joining us and Bill knows that area better than anyone, there are a ton of side trails in and around Box Canyon if we want to do that - I have never been to Woodpecker, but I have heard that it is a short run. There is also Montana Mountain out there too, my Backroad Adventure's book calls it a 5 out of 10 and last time I was there my 4Runner was 100% stock and it was fine.

Hey Punkelberg...I just ordered a set of the TRD Tundra complete front strut assembly from CalMini. I'm only after the springs, would you be interested in the the rest of it for your build? Free of course...

That's too bad about the Martinez area. I think the the luge was the first time 4wheeling that I almost crapped my pants. The last time, coincidently, was last spring on Montana Mtn. Lockers and mud tires are scary on steep, icy switchbacks.

If the river is a concern, you can get to the Coke Ovens from the 79 and it's a pretty cool trail. I'm sure Bill is familier with it. If anyone is interested, there's a video toward the bottom here, the first scene is Ajax, but all the rest is Coke Ovens.

Thats where I'm thinking...makes sence cause we're all heading that way anyhow. Time should be good but I think as close to 10:00 am as possible...15 minutes either way is good with me. Anyone else can chime in here to.

Sundays run...update.

Jeff's friend Bill is gonna lead the way. He's been on the east side for quite some time and knows the area rather well. The plan is to meet at the SHELL station between 10:00-10:30. This is one of the last chances for fuel, food and water...or smokes in my case. Head out to the trail head/ parking area off of HWY. 79 or whatever the no. is. Air down and meet Bill and his wife there. We're gonna try WoodPecker (lower portion) and see how far we can make it....based upon how well we do as a group, we'll run around to some other areas and try to be back to the highway before the sun runs away.

If there's an address needed, Jeff will post it up. I think he'll post the fuel station and the trail head area...we'll see.

Can we get a final count of who for sure is coming out tomorrow?
