Is there a way......

to tell if different gears have been put into the front and rear end? I just bought this truck which has 31's on it so i doubt it's had anything like gears done to it but is there any test or something to tell if it has the stock gears? What are the stock gears on a v6 89' yota pickup btw?

You need to look at the sticker in your door jamb. It will say something like G144. That refers to the gearing. Let me find the link to the gearing chart...

To make sure you have the same ratio in the front back you only have to push the vehicle in a strait line on a flat surface with the engine off and the 4WD engaged. If you can push it without the resistance of the vehicle building up or even coming to a full stop, you should have the same ratio.
If it starts to bind you'r f...d.:pig:
For the ratio use 4crawlers link.
