locker upgrade

ok i am just planning for the future (which is a good thing right?). ive got the money for a rear lock rite now. i want to go ahead and get one. my question is this. later down the line (in about a year) when i have the money for front/rear arb air's w/ new gears (4.88's...current is stock 4.10), would i be able to do this with the lock rite installed right now?

i know its kind of an odd question, and i know some will say just save up for the arb setup, but i can get the lock rite installed for 250 right now and i have the money, and from what i read here and hear, a rear locker is everyone #1 or 2 favorite/best mod.

so will i be able to put in arb air lockers later down the line if i have a rear lock rite locker installed now? i hope to have the lock rite in by thanksgiving. thanks for the feedback.

Yes, you will be able to have an ARB installed later.

Yes, IMO, a locker should be #1 on the mod list. Once you get a locker, you'll wonder how you ever got by without it...

You should be able to sell the locker when your done with it at about 1/2 it's original cost (not the installed price).

I'd do it since it doesn't require a full gear setup.

you could get arb rear for right now without regearing, then later when you have the money, you'll already have the compressor for the front locker, so you'd need money for the front locker and both regears. i know people recommend doing it all at once, but that sure is a huge chunk of cash....

heres my dilema with saving up....there are many more things i would rather than have than front/rear arb's...however id like to have a rear locker. i want to get the urd kit for the s/c, almost its more i NEED it. and other things like a rear bumper and such. i just wanted to make sure the lock rite was a bolt on and didnt need any cutting/welding/etc of the 3rd member making it a permament fix.

All aftermarket lockers are bolt on. The toyota e-locker is an exception because it is designed for a specific vehicle and not an aftermarket product.

Have you thought about a rear locker and a winch?? Save money on your re-gear now and have the winch to get you through whatever.
Just a thought

i have acutally. ive got 800 to spend right now. 650 on the tjm (getting it from ranski here on the board). ive got about 250 coming to me in the next few weeks (paychecks and a friend who owes me money (i sold subs).

that leaves me with about 350, but at least 250 will go to rear locker. but i am working a xmas tree lot this winter. i made about 800 last year (only about 4 weeks of work). the money made there is awesome. anyways so i plan to buy a m8000 with that money. thatd leave me with extra to spend on a front locker. but i plan on having the winch by christmas, so yes ive thought about that, and im going to get one.

right now ive got a good chance at getting some scholarship money to play soccer in college. my parents have saved up enough for me to go anywhere i want, and he told me if i got scholarship money, he would let me have some of the money he saved up as a reward for the hard work ive put in with soccer. so i plan on using that money for the front/rear arb 4.88 gear setup.
