Talking which hole does it go in?

maybe its a stupid question but where does the lockright pin go in A or B....I think A (circle hole) but i have seen a pic from somewhere that someone put the pin in B (ovalish looking hole) at least it looked that way from the pic.

I could be wrong, but you have 4 pins and 4 springs, doens't one of each go into those holes?

Here are some pics of an Aussie locker install, essentially the same mechanism:

Slightly different design, but 1 spring and one pin goes in each hole. Not sure of the orientation, I imagne the spring goes into the ovaled hole. Just a guess. I would contact the manufacturer to be sure. They probably have the insturction on the page.

haha true and i figured out that it can only go one way (or the smaller springs would fall through the holes) but there was this someone on these forms that installed one and it was always locked, they complained to lockright and took a pic of it once it was removed, and from the pic looks like the dude put the pins in the wrong hole.

Thanks deathrunner but this lockright doesn't have the area to slide in the springs along the outer edge, you have to put them in before the its bolted in the carrier, thanks for the help though.

Oh and the instructions are pretty vague when it comes to placing the springs in, they have a pic but its black and white and looks like it was taken back in the 70s w/ bad lighting.

Chad99, like I said, the desigb is different, slightly. Such as the windows for installing the spring, but the basics are still there......a spring and pin in each hole.

Pins go in all four holes. Do you have an install manual? I'm going to refer to parts as they are listed in the manual. You will notice on each driver that 2 holes on the side are round and 2 are oval. When you orient the drivers during assembly make sure an oval is across from a round hole on each of the four places where the meet up. Then you can push the springs in to each of the four holes as each one will have an oval on one side or the other.

Something that I didn't pick up on until the 4th or 5th time I read the instructions was that the small springs slide inside the large springs. I nearly assembled mine with only half the springs. Did yours come with 4 or 8 springs? Your pic looks like only 4. I got thrown off on this by looking at the Aussie install pics too. They are good pics, but only use them as a very general reference as Deathrunner mentioned.
