Gearing Question?

Ok guys some help here would be great, this is what I have and what I want to do. 89 Toyota PU 4WD V6 5 speed, have have a 2" shackle extention in the rear and I am going to put BJ spacers up front, then I want to put on some 33"s on off set rims. Now I know I need to re-gear the diffs but what ratio should I do?
Thanks Blaine

I think 33's should be fine with stock gears.

While most any gear will "work", you'll find 33s would restore you back to near stock gearing w/ 33s. Your speedometer and odometer will read pretty close to correct, your gas mileage and driveability will improve. This would be especially true if you drive and higher elevations. That said lots of folks have run 33s w/ stock gears. Try it and see. If you find the truck is too sluggish, swap gears, 4.88 or 4.56 gears are available from junkyards or you can have your existing diffs regeared, and that would be a good time to add a limited slip or locking diff if you do a lot of off-road driving.

I've got a 89 V6 auto with 4.10s running 33x1250s and it's a dog off the line, and can barely maintain 70 on the highway in Drive. I've got some 5.29s that will be here tomorrow. I'd suggest 4.56s or 4.88s since you have a 5 speed.

You didn't mention what your stock gearing was.

ok well I have 31"s right now and when I put it in 4WD and go up a steep hill the clutch makes a moaning noice and the truck wants to stall unless I try to give it alot of gas meaning the clutch is probably slipping
