Body armour

So i got a new 4runner (new to me), a 2002 Sport. Im looking at putting on a bumper for one of the first things i do. I want it to be winch capable and relatively light. Does anyone have any reccomendations. Ive found a shop in Denver that i might be able to have custom fabricated to my likings. If anyone knows of custom shops, or thinks TJM or ARB will do, let me know.

If I remember right and some will probable correct me if I'm but I think that the tjm and arb will be able to support a winch.
Along with bumpers also look at getting a set of sliders.

AllPhase in Longmont did mine and Molly's.

Do you want tube style or plate style?

I want plate style for the bottom part but then id like tubes to come up around the light and in fron of the grille. So it would be more of a bumper and grille gaurd. I want something similar to the TJM T15. But with a winch. Denver Off-road made the one that is about perfect. Its on a guys page. Didnt think i should post it due to it not being mine.

Personally, I like the TJM 17, and if you want a grill guard as well, talk to a local shop and have them make something up. I think the TJM 15 bars look really big on 4runners, but that's just me.

First off... SEARCH, this has been covered more times than I can count...

To answer your question...
If you want to spend the coin get something custom. You will have the best approach angles and it will be one of a kind! My previous truck had a TJM T-15 and I loved it... It saved me many times, I had yet to put a winch on it when I sold the truck but both options offered by TJM accept winches. My current truck has an ARB, it is quite comparable to the TJM but there are a few differences that keep me yearning for a TJM. First off is that the TJM is modular and has SOME adjustment for a body-lift. If you want you could have custom brackets made to have it flush, I went the cheap route and brought the "body" down to the height of the bumper.

The strip was brand new in the pic so it was a bit more noticeable than it was a month down the road. Next is weight, I do believe the TJMs are slightly lighter than the ARB, plus I just like the lines of the TJM more than the ARB. I think they flow with the truck better and I like the beefier bars more than the hoop/bar combo of the ARB. I would personally save the coin on the front bumper and get a TJM and put the rest towards a custom rear bumper seeing as we don't have any options for a mass-produced version. Either way I think you will be very happy, unless your doing some super tight trails that require super short over-hangs the ARB and TJMs are good bumpers for the money.

Yeah he does good work, I went to highschool with him. He just finished some sliders on my rig, and some work on a roofrack. He is also on the national ttora boards, same name mossyrocks

Here are somebumpers he has done.

his personal rig, he did all himself

The stuff he did on my rig

If you go TJM, you can save alot of money if you are willing to drive to knoxville and pick it up.
