I recently purchased a 96 4runner. The front has Donahoe's and camburg upper's. The rear has fj80 springs and fj80 bilstine shocks the lower shock tabs have been extended to accomadate the longer shocks. The problem is that the rear is way too soft and the rebound is also way too fast. I mostly prerun. What are my options for getting the rearend to performe up to par with the front end?

Nope. Some body on this forum has encountered this same problem. I searched and couldn't find anything though.

 

Ditto. Talk to Jason Demello. He told me that one of these or another company can make you custom rear coils in any spring rate you need. His call sign on here is JDemello.

 

Did you search on "cruiser coils"? They come in many different heights and spring rates...

 

Actually I baught Jasons Green 4runner, maybe I'll just call him. I'm not so concerned with a custom coil as I am about putting a tuneable resivor shock in place of the monotube shock.

 

I thought he had Downey springs in the rear of his 4runner? I only know this b/c he was telling me that they were way too soft.

 

That actually sounds about right. Downey springs and fj80 shocks, I think I still need to call him.

 

downey's are soft. i added air bags to mine to make them adjustable...
