About replicating tailgate decals

Decided to post up a thread here for the intimate trials and tribulations of bringing a T100 back to life that was absolutely BEAT as a hunting truck.

I should have posted walkaround pics when I brought it home before I got to work on it to illustrate how bad it was, but you’ll get the idea as time goes on.

Feel free to chime in with any good advice along the way.

Hello. I am restoring a 1998 T100 in Japan where the T100 was made. We don't have as many parts as we do in the US but I am doing my best. My tailgate no longer has the original decals. Your duplicate design fits my year and looks more accurate than the one on ebay. Would it be possible to make one with a black metallic base?

New Owner

Just purchased the truck in this thread, will keep the rebuild progress rolling. When I purchased the truck it had been wired for a sound system but the amp and several speakers were missing. It came with parts for a front end rebuild and some other stuff. One issue was that the doors wouldn’t close all the way due to the latches being completely worn out. Put new latches in on both sides but had to cut up the sealed door to get that done, will be resealing before the doors panels go back on.

New wheel bearings, brakes, rotors

Needed these, all the parts came with the truck so the work just cost me time and elbow grease.

More brake work

Drums, shoes/springs, fluid flushed. Also went back and got new front calipers. All that should fix the spongy pedal.

Congratulations

Evan95 Congratulations on getting this truck. Some of us have been following along as 55reasons recreated this truck from the ground up. Your continuing the work and the upgrades are good to see. Keep posting as you can, so we can enjoy your new truck with you.

guessing the custom made trailer wasn't part of the deal?

It was offered but I didn’t pay up for it.

More mechanical stuff

Upper and lower ball joints done. Next is brake master cylinder (hopefully won’t have to do a full bleed again), engine oil, transfer case oil, and front/rear differential oil. Coolant was done by previous owner when they replaced the radiator just before the sale.

The old differential oil was a little too sparkely for my liking, see image of the pan. Endoscope images aren’t of good enough quality to really see anything, was just curious to peek inside.
