I'd be curious to see how you did your CB antenna mount... could you PM me some photos?

Also managed to pull most of the big dent out from the flop. Looks somewhat better now.

Maybe

You might be able to pop off an interior panel and bang it out a bit from the inside. Bondo sucks. I'd either leave it dented or try to just fix it all metal. You could probably weld the tear back up. If you put a plate behind the hole as you weld it will keep the weld from beading out the back on the inside.

Yeah, I hate bondo. I threw that idea out of my head a long time ago. I was kinda thinking about doing something like that, just to keep it water tight. Right now I have a block of wood jammed in between the dent and the inner panel to keep the dent from sucking back in. Kinda ghetto, but it works.

Built myself a storage box for the cargo area. It is constructed of 3/4" plywood, with 39" drawers. The box itself is 1 foot tall. Just gotta pad and carpet the top and sides, put some sort of rubber mat in the drawers to keep stuff from sliding around, and hook up some turn buckles to it and attach them to the factory tie down points to keep it from moving around back there.

Little update, Got all new suspension, but some damage as well.

Went out exploring some of the high desert in Mono county near the ghost town of Bodie, There are enough trails out there to explore for a lifetime. The bumpy roads took its tole on my tire carrier, So it needs to be rewelded before the next trip.
Some pics of the desert and the damage

This trip also caused my front drivers side shock with 215K miles on it to explode, sending oil everywhere. So it was time for a new front suspension. I decided to go with the Toytec coilovers with the heavy duty shocks. Ive gone one month with LC coils in the rear with just spacers up front, so it also leveled it out, I am very happy with how everything sits.

Yeah they work wonders! It was super easy, I probably had the old ones out and the new ones in in 45 minutes. But now my tires rub super bad on the upper control arm, so I gotta get me some wheel spacers soon or I wont be able to do squaw ridge

Saw your cb antenna mount damage, went out and told my truck rubber side down! That's something I did not forsee when I was trying to get the mount out of my way.
I'm not moving it, though, I really like it where it is. Guess I'll have to create a cb antenna mount skid or something.....
Very nice bumper, btw.

Wabfab's got a spacer discount code around here somewhere and a yotatech discount if you can't find that one.......you already knew that, though.

I like it there, even though it caused lots of damage I still think its the perfect place for a mount. Who knows, maybe it acted as a kick stand for the side of the truck and helped keep weight off the windows, and thats why they didnt break. I'm just suprised it didnt shear off from the weight of the vehicle. Maybe a skid isnt such a bad idea lol

I'm surprised it didn't just bend flat against the taillight and break that if anything, then yeah, your window. Thought maybe using a flimsier material might work better but then the antenna would be wiggling all over the place. Bolts that shear from sideways stress, that could work.....

Those CB mounts are pretty powerful. I have two of them and they dont bend or even budge with the weight of a spring/antenna at all. So if they can hold your truck. they're definitely worth the 25 bucks lol

Definitely worth the money, thats for sure. I think the best plan is to not drop the vehicle onto it again though lol

Stockwell, I have a friend with a spare set of Camburg Uni-Ball upper control arms, if you'd rather use those instead of wheel spacers. Let me know. I'm sure he'd let them go for a fair price.

Stockwell, you have gotten a lot done over the past few months. I was checking out your draw setup. Did you use any kind of slide or bearing setup for the draws them selves. If not, have you had any issues with the draws getting stuck or binding with expansion and contraction of the wood grain? What are you using too keep the draws closed, i did not notice any kind of latch at all from the pics you provided.

There is now slides in there at all, it is just wood on wood. But the wood is painted on both the drawers and the housing, so it makes it slippery, and on top of that I waxed the entire thing to make it open and close very smoothly. I have no problems with it coming open, but thats probably just because I have them so loaded down all the time with all my stuff
