Road trip has begun. For the next 4 or 5 months, I'll be cruising around the western U.S. checking out some of this beautiful country. The 4Runner with all my stuff weighs 5700 pounds! My LC coils don't like it too much, and the thing has about as much power as a volkswagen van on hills.

Right now I'm sitting in Utah at my parents house waiting for this storm to pass. On sunday I'll be heading over the rockies into Denver, then onto Cheyenne and into Montana.

I won't be seeing California for a while, maybe I'll see some of ya while I'm out on the road.

Thanks man, yeah I've noticed you've been looking for one. It definitely won't be the wheeler your 86 is, but in all other aspects if you get a 3rd gen you'll love it. I do wish I had a 5 speed now and then, but the auto is nice sometimes too.

Your trip sounds fantastic Stockwell. Its a good time of the year to travel the western states as well. Remember to take lots of pics, and keep us posted.

Doesn't look like most of Utah I've seen. St. Georege area maybe? Any time to hit moab or hole in the rock? Good luck on the trip.

Yeah I'm in St. George now. I would love to hit them, pretty much just depends on the time of day I pass through there. But going alone might be boring!

St.George that's my town! I thought the pictures looked like that. If your into crawling a bit you might want to look into the playground.

I figured there would be somebody on here from St. George. I love the hard stuff when it comes to wheeling, I just don't know how well my 4runner will wheel with my whole life loaded in the back. It's getting close to bottoming out in the back just going down the road. Definitely will be heading up trails that end with a view to camp, but will only be here a day or two longer.

Ya, the playground probably wouldn't be the place to go if your looking for that. From what it sounds like

Ya, the playground probably wouldn't be the place to go if your looking for that. From what it sounds like Applevalley, or just out south of hurricane wouldn't be bad for that.

Yep, I've been back for a bit now. If money grew on trees, I'd still be out there! I had a blast though, and I'm probably going on another trip late may/early june. The 4runner did great, never had any problems. Sleeping in a tent in singe digit temps wasn't too fun though...

I'm sure I'll see you around sooner or later, I'm still here quite often, just keep forgetting to update this thread. I've actually been down in Sac quite a bit recently, hanging out with the Kassube's. I always keep my eye out for your truck.

I seriously thought about it, but I knew you've got a busy graveyard work schedule and your family. I didn't wanna bother you! But I'll let you know a few days before I head down next, like I said it shouldn't be too long. I'll send ya a PM when I do.

So I've been thinking about putting one of those state sticker maps that people put on their RV's to show people where they've gone, on my tent for everywhere I've camped in it. It will only be on the side of the tent, and the tent is only on for periods of the summer, and when I am camping. What do you think, pretty cool or just a dorky thing that an old man would do?

Maybe it would look better if it wasn't a full sticker, only the outlines of the states, that way it wouldn't be a giant white mass of all the states I haven't been to.
