Well, the problem was mainly installer error. I wasn't looking at the diagrams correctly. Also I had a switch and mirrors from a 97 Tacoma but the harness that plugs into the back of the switch was from a Camry. Wire colors were different and I wasn't interpreting everything correctly at first.

Anyway, here is a video of me demonstrating that they work.

EDIT: at the moment, they are simply wired up with butt connectors. I wanted to test operation before messing with my pretty PCS connectors. Tomorrow I will wire in the connectors.

Still saving for the SAS kit. A couple recent trips to Texas have almost drained my savings. Not much progress with it. Sooner or later I'm going to fully tear down the rest of the axle and get it prepped for assembly.

Picked up the tube doors today. At $100 for brand new second hand 4XI tube doors and quick release hinges, I couldn't pass that up.

After I picked them up, I had lunch with a friend since he's close by where the seller was. We tried mounting them up, but the spacing for the latch was off. It was about 1/2 inch too short and the latch mechanism wouldn't grab the nub.

I would send an email or PM Adam. I am sure that he will help you out with an idea to get them mounted.

1/2" worth of washers or 2- 1/4" pieces of steel welded together. It's an easy fix, really.
I've already got an idea on how to fix them. Just need the time to do it. Sunday I might give it a shot. I'm just not looking forward to drilling a bunch of holes in 1/4" plate. My drill and bits suck.

No doubt. Thats kinda like one of my recent $100 finds. 2nd gen truck doors, slider window, good 20r head with the dual row timing kit and cover, a couple valve covers, and a whole bunch of small misc stuffs makin a truck load of parts.

Nice score for sure! If I could have found a pair of real taco doors for a good price like that I would have made half doors. I've always wanted half doors with quickly removable plexiglass windows. It'd be nice to have the visibility on the trails yet the comfort of a nice sealed cab (for the ride home on the highway), basically all in one. Oh well. Maybe I can eventually rig up some plexiglass windows for these things.

That plexi is a killer idea. I though about snap in vinyl for my 1/2s

I got the latch misalignment solved. I just stacked a bunch of washers and it worked fine. Its not a load bearing item so I'm not worried about the washers being too bad of an idea. If anything with the latch starts getting messed up, I'll get a local machine shop to cut me a spacer out of aluminum.

Theres no contrast with the doors and the seats, so its hard to see em. Oh well.
