Not really...we tend to walk and bike off the Torte. Now, the sassy could happen.

Cold, wet here too....hard to get excited about the garden. However, I see some carrots that volunteered up so I need to see what's up with that. Normally, I get a zucchini or two that pops up like magic.

That sounds mighty fine, Mr. Sassypants.
(must be channeling a bit of Chef here...)
Volunteer zucchini? I planted some for the first time this year. At least, unlike the radish, I'll know some of the things I can do with those.

Haha, oh, that's right....forgot that is Chef's term for you at times, IIRC. Ok, I'll just come home fat (not really).

Yup, big zucchini get left behind in the fall and the seeds seem to germinate every spring. I can't remember when I actually put zucchini seeds in the ground. However, I do not have a squirrel issue like you do....those seeds probably make tasty winter squirrel food.

Radishes......I like 'em sliced and sauteed on the barbie in a little olive oil, especially, if they get a bit too big and become pithy which makes them not-so-hot for slicing in salads.

They get pithy? Good to know. I'll try sauteing them and see what happens. Apparently on pizza isn't a plus, I got voted down on that one. :/

Cherry tomato size is good....a golf ball size and above, depending on the variety, can get pithy in the core. Letting the soil dry out between waterings can make them hotter than normal it seems...mine like evenly moist soil to stay the sweetest.

I like the pizza idea...sliced thin and your family would never know they are there.

We'll probably do the usual Colorado and Utah tour, it's kind of addicting.
We have been researching Yellowstone NP as this year's late Summer vacation destination, and now we're trying to decide between flying and renting a vehicle and being limited on what we can bring along to hike and stay in lodging, or driving out there and being able to properly hike and camp (and then whether to take the fuel efficient TDI or the 4Runner, in which case I'd build the sleep platform before then)...

BTW, how is the Moo Box holding up?

She lives in northern Germany about 1/2 way between Hamburg and Berlin. We travel all around. Her English has gotten very good, my German is very, very limited.

Finally got around to the coolant temp sensor for the gauges I put in. I bought a cheap coolant sensor adapter off Amazon (32mm) for the upper radiator hose. The hole in it was 1/8 pipe (too small) so I had it tapped for 1/4" pipe and used the adapter that came with the gauges. Hopefully it's not sticking too far in there, less than half way. If it is I'll stack another adapter on it to pull it further back.

How's that temp sensor working? Good readings? Can't imagine that it's too far in there.

Looks like good readings so I'm sticking with how it's set up for now.

A few flowers on the tomatoes and peppers, corn's a foot tall, pea pods are showing up. Tons of flowers and little green blackberries. Wonder if I'll have enough for jam or something? Radishes taste gross.

Hmmm, definately not a fan of radishes are you? I've decided to skip a garden this season. There is a good little fruit and vegetable stand a couple of miles away so that will suffice. Summerish weather finally has hit here. House project is wrapped up...just a little bit of fine detail work to do.

I mentioned it back in post 1264 on 4/29. It was so long ago, it only seems like you missed it.

Three months from yesterday, I'm on a jet plane.
