There is still the factory on/off switch, these are way to bright to drive around with all the time. Before, with the switch in the on position, the lights would only work when the low beam headlights were on. Now they work when the running lights, low beam, or brights are on.

Time for some snow wheeling videos! I finally got the video edited; it was my first project so it took a while but the GoPro worked awesome!

If you recognize the area please keep it to yourself, or PM me. The Nature Nazi’s are working hard to get every trail in the area shut down, including this one.

Well, the stock rock anchor of a muffler had to go. I have only taken it on one real rock crawling trip and I managed to drag the muffler several times. It really needed to be replaced with something smaller. While I liked how quiet the stock muffler was, it could be a little more aggressive sounding. I’ve had vehicles with loud exhaust systems and that’s not what I wanted; I wanted the smallest muffler that I could find, that was somewhat quiet, while adding an aggressive note.
I looked at several mufflers (Magnaflow, Borla, Flowmaster, etc.), but I chose the Flowmaster for several reasons. First, the size was just right and second; I’ve had a Flowmaster in the past and I was very happy with the fully welded steel construction. I picked the Delta Flow 50 series (Part number 942452), hoping it would not be too loud.
During the install, notice the size difference

After I first cut the stock tail pipe off, the exhaust aimed right at the P/S rear brake drum. I didn’t like this, and I felt that it was making extra condensation inside the brake drum on cold days. I was going to reroute the entire tailpipe but instead I added a turn down to redirect the flow, it was less work and does pretty much the same thing. I used a small section of a junk crossover pipe that was on an E-350 van I worked on.

I still need to take some pictures/video of the LED lights in action, so I'll try to get a sound clip or two of the muffler at the same time.

It sounds good! It was a little loud at first, but once I got used to it I'm happy. It has a nice aggressive tone at idle that gets louder as I accelerate, but once I get on the highway and hold a steady RPM the note decreases and it's only a little louder than stock.

Stock reverse lights just don’t cut it when you need to back down a trail in the dark. I’ve always had an extra reverse light on my rigs, pointed straight back and on an extra switch. This time I wanted to do things a little different; I really wanted the lights aimed at where the edge of the trail would be and I wanted them to come on with the reverse lights so I don’t have to think about turning them on.
It took a while to find a place to mount the lights where they would shine the way I want, but I found a spot and I’m happy with the light pattern. I still need to wire the lights; I’m going to wire them to a relay and have the stock reverse lights trigger it but I want to wire my rock lights and a couple goodies for the trailer at the same time.
(Excuse the cell phone pictures, I forgot my camera)
Lights installed. They are just some cheap Walmart lights, but they should do the trick (they will only be on when I’m in reverse).

Testing the light pattern. I might pull them in towards the tires more, we’ll see once I get it on the trail.
