Co2 tanks have to be in the upright postion when in use, I find it's easier to always have it in that postion. The rear cargo area is really the only place to put it. It takes up some room but it's a must have for the trail.

Man your 4runner continues to impress me, one of the best built, highest quality, most clean and amazing rigs I have ever seen. Best toy in my opinion ever. w the 315's where do you plan on carrying your spare. I have a rear bumper similar to yours w 285s and I cant figure out where I wann put it, will you run a roof rack? or maybe I missed it already

Thanks man, that’s a huge compliment!

I don’t plan on running a spare on the 4Runner, it was always in the way on the old 4Runner. With the beadlocks, MTR’s w/ Kevlar, and on board air with several plug kits, I should be fine without it (knock on wood). For longer trips I will have the trailer which is also on 35’s and has the same bolt pattern as the truck. If I’m going on a really long, or multi-day trip I have a full size spare I can throw on top of the trailer.

Thanks! If I remember right it was about 2.5” that needs to be cut off the front legs, but I would have to double check. I had the same issue as you, I could not get the roll bar in the back. I thought it was the CO2 bracket that was in the way (it was there when I got it). I know several people have installed them without an issue, but I fought with mine for a while. I ended up cutting mine in half and installing one of these.

It has been quite the week, I’ll start with the good and work my way to the bad…

My supercharger came in the day before Thanksgiving; I was excited to have my truck back so I took half the day off to reinstall it (Since Magnuson royally screwed up the first time and it was leaking oil, but they also stripped out the EGR bolt holes, and it looked like a 1st grader sealed together). I also sent them a URD 2.2 pulley to install while they had it apart (since they over tightened the stock pulley and I couldn’t take it off). The added power from the 2.2 pulley, combined with the URD 7th injector kit, really make the 4Runner run awesome!

I wanted to get the cargo area wrapped up, so I went through all my gear / tools and got them organized.

I also got my Hi- lift jack installed in it’s new home. I always pull the base off them (that’s what makes all the rattling noise), it’s in one of the Action Packers.

Fire Extinguisher mounted with a Poly Performance quick release mount. It only takes a second or two to release it, and it’s heavy duty.

I needed to find a way to secure my cooler, so I made some stops to hold it in place and used a seatbelt to hold the cooler down. It makes it quick and easy to get inside, and it keeps the cooler from sliding around.

I got my Rigid Industries Dually D2’s installed (Amber/Driving), they should work good for snow and dusty conditions. I wired them to the factory fog light harness. They seem bright in the shop but I still need to test them out in real world conditions.

Seatbelts are great, but they don't get very tight, so you need to have some stops (or something like that) to keep your cargo from working it's way out.

It's so nice to get into the cooler at the push of a button and have it secured in the same amount of time!

And as you can see in the last pictures I went out and did a little snow wheeling!

The 4Runner did great and I made it a lot further than I thought I would (I still need to wire the ARB compressor, so I was open in the front). I’ll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.

I ran into a bunch of blown down trees that were blocking several trails; we had some very powerful wind a few weeks ago (115mph at the top of Peak 8 in Breck) and I figured this would happen. It looks like I need to get a chainsaw before spring.

Some more fun…

And that was the end of my fun

I decided to check the supercharger, it seemed like a good idea since I installed it less than 50 miles ago and I was out in the middle of the woods. After I opened the hood I was greeted with this mess.

Everything other than the sc looks fantastic. Sorry about the other leak. Get magnuson to pay someone else to fix it.

I take it the sc is going by by? I would be going crazy on them for messing up your sc. I wonder if the batch of seals they are using is bad. Or if they messed up the housing getting the old seal out.

I just read through the whole thread and all I can say is WOW! I have 4runner envy. What an amazing build on a super clean vehicle and it seems like you have only made it better at every turn. Your fab work is outstanding and as many others have mentioned, your eye for aesthetics combined with functionality is inspiring.

I am really disappointed to hear about the BS with Magnuson. My 96 is SC'd as well and will need a rebuild soon. Everything I've read says we are pretty much stuck with Magnuson for TRD 'charger rebuilds. I'll be watching this thread closely to see how this turns out.

There is really nothing like a clean snow on a bright sunny Colorado morning, is there? I truly feel blessed to live here.
