Question Who remembers this mod?

Was wondering if anyone remembers this from ODW a long time ago? I always wanted to do this but can't get my emblem to pop off the front of my 2nd Gen Runner. Has anyone had this emblem off before? I am afraid to pry too hard for fear of breaking it but maybe I am not prying quite hard enough.. anyone have a clue?

I remember that. I wanna say that Phil here did it, but I'm not positive.

For taking the emblem off, this might help.

It's on a 3rd gen, but it might apply to the 2nd gen also.

The mod above Joey was done with vinyl I think.

Butnut

I thought butnut had two colors under his emblem (blue and white). Let me see if I can find the thread.

Butnut's site shows it in the first picture, but I don't know how he did it. Shoot him a PM

Cebby, see the write-up in the Tech section I listed above.
That is Brian's two tone emblem.

I may be wrong but I think that the front emblem on the 2nd generations is held on with two screws visible from the inside of the grille. Once again I may be wrong but it seems like I remember it being the case when I had my grille off one time.

I remember the Mod. That looks like Chuck Konarske's 2002 Sport. I think the emblem unscrews from the back.

You have to remove the whole grille assembly for the 92-95 4runners. There will 2 screws right behind the emblem. What I did is, I used red vinyl to cover the black area of where the emblem is suppose to be at. You have to use two different pieces of vinyl to do this mod, here is a pic: [/IMG]
Took me about 15-25 mins to do this mod. If I were you go with red, since its a white rig!

Here's what it should look like:

That's easy to do...removing the grille is a pain. I'm sure all grille emblems are screwed from behind. If that was Chuck's Runner, he told me he used a plastic file folder from an office supply. I used plastic sign vinyl. I have seen carbon fiber sticker sheets, but it's kinda dark. I'm happy with my 2 tone for now.
