Wheel bearings servicing : what is involved?

Since I'm keeping the truck, some preventative maintenance is in order.

I'm guessing that after 210 000 kms, the wheel bearings might be tired. How involved a job is it to change those, front and back?

TIA.

Those are both a pretty big PITA jobs. The rears you can probably DIY but the fronts should definately go to the dealer because you don't want to screw up a spindle trying to press a bearing in or out. Honestly, unless I had evidence that they were bad, I'd just wait until one went and then do the pair of them at the same time. Bearings on these trucks are not really a good easy replacement / preventative maintenance type of item. Just my $0.02 anyway.

generally for the bearings, there will be warning of roughing noise. However, it is very dangerous to drive around w/ the warning sound, you can lose control when it seize and cause accident to yourself and/or others.

for the smart-alecs out there, the statement quoted do not include the regular maintenance thats required.
