Truck in need of help!

Truck in need of help!
Bad news today guys and gals. My 92 Toyota had a gripper. I think the timing chain decided to go for a swim in the oil pan.
After a brief drive on the interstate I stopped for a quick bite. When I got out and was ready to leave, the truck just turned over. My friend (who is a Toyota mechanic) looked at it, he thinks its camshaft or timing chain. He came to this conclusion, the distributor does not turn when trying to crank it over.
The truck just turned over a 100K miles and was not making any "noises". This was all a sudden! Any input on what areas I need to look at. Wish me luck ( I think I am going to need it).

Aw man! That sucks! Timing chains aren't fun to replace either. You gonna go with the DOA timing chain kit??? Can't beat those metal guides, and may as well throw in a cam while you got it opened up!!! Vroom... vroom! Hope it gets better for you, I know the feeling:pat:

re:
No I havent.
My next question: Is the motor trashed or can I just put in a new timing chain and guides and continue on cruising?
My buddy will start working on my rig early next week. For now I driving a Dodge Neon (rental).
At least I get to play "Rental Car Romp"!
I didnt know a Neon can go a 100mph!!

I didn't know they could either
His diagnosis sounds correct, sorry to say, unless the distributor shaft broke or the gears on it are gone. That's kinda rare though. Changing the chain isn't all that bad, I am kind of surprised it only made it 100,00 miles though. I got about 150,00 out of my last truck(94 toyota pickup). Hopefully theres no valve damage:pat:
