Tranny Cooler benefits on an N/A engine?

My good ol 3.4L has the deckplate and ISR mod, but no supercharger. Would I get any benefits (ie longer transmission life) out of installing a transmission cooler like one of the Hayden models? I've always heard that the transmission is the first thing to go on an older car/truck and I would like to get as many miles as possible out of my 4Runner. What do ya'll think? Later.

There are no ill-effects to cooler tranny fluid, only gains. What is it they say?; For every 20° drop in temp, the life of the tranny doubles. There are limits to that of course (I wouldn't go below 120°F or so), but for the most part, cooler is better.

yup cooler is better for an auto tranny... and no matter what you do, chances are you will never get it so cold that it will hurt your truck

What are the chances of having leaks with the tranny cooler as far as the way it is connected now vs. after the tranny cooler is installed? I know there will be a couple of extra hoses that have to be run, so is there any risk of leaks? Leaks could be a disaster waiting to happen.

Talking Easy

Easy to do, cheap insurance, shouldn't be any problems with leaks and will prolong the life of your tranny. First mod on my 00 when I bought it and it is still on there, and no leaks!

Only if you install it poorly. Might as well say, should I change my oil filter? The filter seal doesn't leak now but what if it leaks afterward?

And if you drive in hills, or stop and go in town, or tow anything, the cooler is a VERY good idea. Only benefits, no downside.

I had heard something about Hayden being short on stock nation-wide, which in that case, this Tru-Cool will do nicely as well ($53 plus shipping):
