Trail Rig and/or Daily Runner?

Now that I've begun taking my '98 4-runner (which I still owe a fair amount of money for) off-roading, I've been wondering how many people have a daily driver, and keep a second rig for taking off-road that they don't care too much if it gets damaged?

I'm not sure if you worded the poll correctly...
Doesn't both mean the same?

Anyway, my new 03 is my DD and also my trail rig... I've already had some scrapes here and there along w/ some tupperware damage and definitely some skids encountering some rocks

Don't have the funds for a project fj40 (that I wish!!! win lotto!!!).

Hell, if someone can finance me, I'm there!!!

Yeah- realized after posting the poll that both answers were essentially the same, I can't edit the poll itself, have to have Corey do it.

I'm in the same boat, don't really have the money for a second vehicle, but a little afraid of trashing the one that I have.

Yeah I hear ya!

Heck I took my 4runner out for a run even before the plates came in!!! All my friends thought I was nuts!!

But all in all, I bought my 4runner so I can go places... Yes I know that I still have 10 million in payments but for me, it's well worth the $$ I work for !!

Plus atleast I can be proud and say, hell I use my 4runner to go places and not for grocery runs!

I thought maybe ya meant was..
"Your daily driver is your trail rig" - as in the vehicle you take and beat up and aren't worried about damaging is your daily driver.
or
"You have a daily driver that is your trail rig" - you take your daily driver whcih you do not want to damage offroad.
lol

Its funny, I'm 30, and my Dad gave me a lecture (via email) about taking care of my vehicles, after I sent him a picture of me plowing through a massive puddle. I figure, I bike or take the bus back and forth to work, so the runner basically sits there during the week. I've got to get my money's worth out of it somehow!

I voted both I take my daily driver (Xterra) offroad sometimes, and I don't want to sell my 4Runner so it's pretty much become my trail rig/daily driver. Pretty much I drive whichever one I feel like at the moment I hope that makes sense

But pretty much my Xterra is my daily driver/occasional offroader (Still a little too new, and I'm afraid to scratch it )
And my 4Runner is my Trail Rig/Occasional Daily Driver.

my daily driver is my trail rig. or it could be said that my trail rig is my daily driver. it goes dorrless arround town, has more than a fair share of dents/dings,scratches and has had a few fights with trees and rocks. but it always wins.

my daily driver is my trail rig (though it hasnt seen too much "trail"---yet). I have to do a bit of business w/ it (taking clients around when they visit, occassional deliveries, etc), so it can't be modified too much.

I have a Mitsubishi Monterro that I use as a daily driver, but the 4Runner sometimes has to compensate due to mileage restrictions on my Mitsu lease. I'd say the 4runner is 70% trail rig and 30% DD.

Mine is both...I drive it to school during the week and on weekends I wheel it so...pretty much equal amount of driving on and off road.

Some people hate it when I come back to school muddy and they want to go to lunch with me...if they don't like gettin dirty then don't ride with me

Yea mine is both also, take it to school and work, but than wheel it on the weekends. As you can tell (maybe not in this pic) even tho mine is a daily driver, i still don't care too much about getting body damage. Hopefully this summer me and my bro are going to fab me up a tube bed, exo cage (small one, not a jungle gym type) and a front bumper, than i won't get body damage, hopefully.

But i'm hoping within a year or so i can buy a tow rig, cause i wish i did not have to drive this around all the time, i could do so much more with it otherwise.
