It's time to replace my 04 4Runners wipers. The rig was one year old at the end of Oct. so I got about 13 months out of these. 11K miles. Thats a fantastic life span for wipers down here in the Flor-duh heat and daily rain in the summer. I have a long haul coming up to SW VA and am expecting some snow (I hope!) I wanted to freshen up the wipers for the trip. Has any other 4th gens replaced them yet? What was the life span? what did you replace them with?

These are the best wipers that i have used.

 

I use some silicone wiper blades and really like them. They have a lifetime warranty and aren't supposed to crack or wear out. So far their performance has been top notch. Since they are silicone and silicone has a tendency to get "sticky" when it gets damp, they did hop on the window a bit when they were new. They got every drop of water off the windshield though. Now that they are older, they don't grab the windshield as bad and still get every drop of water.

I also noticed that this morning (it was 19 degrees) that the silicone didn't freeze like rubber would and it did a great job of getting the frost off the windshield.

That's my $.02 worth.

 

ive used 'em all. regular bosch, winter bosch, silicon, teflon, etc.

the best ive found for inclement weather are winter teflons. i have em on right now, been on for about a month and a half and are not that impressive for the first few uses (skip, leave trails, make noises). once they break in (takes only a couple days), they are th smoothest, best, strongest wipers ive ever seen.

 

If you were happy with the stock ones my recomendation is stay with them. If it ain't broke dont fix it. Go to the dealer and pick up some new ones.

Jeez, already ? Mine is 2yrs old and has 40k on it, I'm still running the original wipers... Maybe it's time.

FWIW: I have seen posted many times that Toyota OEM wipers are the way to go...

 

I will be the fourth to recommend the OEM, that's all I use, they are the best.

The wiper manufacturers that offer warranties, expect you to send the defective ones back before they replace them, what do you do in the meantime ???
