throttle cable stretch?

Noticed on my 96 Taco there was about a 1/2" of play..adjusted it all the way out and theres still play. Question is, is strecth normal and is it common to replace throttle cables in Tacos?

3.4 w/ 125k mi.

as long as the throttle opens all the way i wouldn't worry about it, my 2.7 taco did the same thing
