These TRD rims on black truck...
Does anyone have a pic of these on a black runner or truck? They're not quite black, I'm wondering if they would ruin my black on black look.

Ya I saw a pic of someone with those wheels on their 4runner in a thread a few weeks ago, I can't remember who it was, but they looked really good. Hopefully they will chime in.

Getting a hold of them was hard. My local dealer could not order the gunmetal, only the silver. Apparently, the gunmetal is a non-orderable item. Further calls to other dealers resulted in mixed answers that seemed to point to dealers that were putting the wheels on regular FJ's and passing them as TRD. I found a set of 5 in Dallas that came off a factory rig. The owner wanted 17in wheels while the TRD's are 16. The wheels are wider and have different backspacing. Steve will have to shave your A'arms or things will rub with 285/75's. They will rub enough to cause damage to the tires with normal use.
The size of these wheels are 16x7.5. That extra .5 is enough to matter with 285s, but with 265s you may get away with it. Like everything else... you won't know till you put em' on. The silver would look better on your rig than the gunmetal. Silver won't scratch or chip as easily.

So the quick and dirty is, yes they will rub w/ 285s and stock A arms. I was looking at buying the silver rims to match my truck instead of the gunmetal. I was also thinking about running 265/75s instead of 285s. Like he said above, they might not rub w/ 265s, but I won't know 'til I put them on.
I called my local dealer and they sell them for $150.00 ea. Not bad at all for an OEM wheel. I got a quote of $128 ea. b/c I've got friends at the dealer. Still, $150 ea ain't bad for OEM rims. I've been quoted close to a grand from the dealer on a new set of the 4Runner Sport rims I'm currently running. Go figure.
And like Jake said too, good luck finding the gunmetal. When I called my dealer, they do not even show them as an option...therefore, they can't even order them. Only way I imagine I could get gunmetal is like he did - Get them off someone else that doesn't want them.
Edit: Oh and as how I think they would look on a black 4Runner - I think they would look good. Just look at the black TRD FJs with them.
