There were two problems with the poll thread.

1. The winning design contained the Corporate Toyota oval logo which we legally cannot use to advertise our forums and website. Furthermore its color scheme would have been pretty expensive to produce.

2. There was some pretty rediculous threats and cussing toward the end of the thread that was removed from this board... along the lines of 'shove you head up your own .....' and, 'i'll fill your head full of lead' This kind of talk is not welcome on the forums. The staff is now discussing what to do next. Most likely we will have to have another "Final deciding sticker vote" with only choices that are legally and economically feasable. We didn't find out untill it was too late about not being able to use the oval logo. Its also my understanding that we cannot even have the word "Toyota" on the sticker.

As far as i'm concerned we are going back to the drawing board and accepting submittions of designs again. Please try to keep them simple.

I want to appologise to all members for the fact that we are currently no closer to having a sticker that we were in August. We are trying, trust me. We WILL get it worked out, I just can't say when.

Glad someone did delete that thread. I was wondering when that was going to happen. Good job guys. My apologies if I was acting out of line in the thread.

So whats the rules/deadlines for the sticker and were to send. I want to get in on it this time as I was preoccupied last time to send one in.

The 'rules' are that it cannot violate any trademarks or copywrites. That means no oval symbol and no mention of "Toyota". Mentioning toys and yotas is fine, hint hint.

If you want sort of an inside track for your design do some investigation of production cost and submit your findings along with your design.

Well none of my designs have included emblems. Cause I knew something like this would come about. And none of mine have included slogans cause I don't think that we need a slogan on a sticker.

So is there a deadline or a place to send them?

Sorry about the confusion, but I was emailed last week by Toyota corporate, and the stuff Matt mentioned can't be on the sticker.

Deadline?
I don't know.
I'd just like to see some more come in.

We hardly got any replies last time for ideas.

And if any of you can also do them in a "clear GIF," that format would look great too, as it can be printed out on clear vinyl like the one I have on my back window now.

Send your submissions to Chris.

Hey Chris,

It might be a good idea to keep all the submissions off the forum until you have 3 finalists. Everyone gets upset when their design is not chosen, plus we have too many choices. Have the moderators pick the final three and then put it to a vote, winner takes all.

I also apologize if I contributed any to the direction in which the last thread was going.

But on a happier note, I do agree w/ the moeraiors picking a top 3 and then letting us all vote on the finalist. Good idea, and good gong on getting rid of thatlast poll before it got even more outof hand.

Apology

I just returned from my Thanksgiving vacation to Odessa, Texas about 30 minutes ago and after reading this thread, I'd like to apologize to you all for my remarks.
I did not realize how foolish I was being when I made the remarks towards Halman and apoligize for posting that on a public forum where anyone, no matter what age can see it. My actions were immature and if you all will accept my apology, I promise it will never occur again.

I'd like to say my apologies also. It's sad that the last sticker poll had to end the way it did, and it was partly due to me. So, again, my apologies.

I have a design I'd like to contribute, so it'll be coming soon. I tried using Microsoft Paint (best program I have), but I had a hard time getting smooth lines, etc. Any suggestions?

Not sure if this will help or not, but I went to a decal shop and the guy there said of the last batch of decals posted, the one that said YOTATECH with the three red lines to the left was going to be the cheapest to print.

Anyways, have fun.

BTW, I also think it's a good idea for the moderators to pick the best 3 designs and let us folk go from there.
