Since I just ordered four 33x9.5s....

Will they fit my 97 tacoma with the 2" tundra coils in front and 2" lift in back? I will be running them on stock wheels....and I do wheel it, so I cant have something that will destroy my inner fender if I hit an obstacle too hard or something, in other words by "fit" I mean not just around town but on the trails as well....well what does everyone think?

disclaimer: and I know there have been a million "will these tires fit my truck" posts, but to my knowledge NOONE has asked if a 33x9.5 will fit a tacoma/3rd gen 4runner with a small amount of lift. so please do not flame.

The only time I have ever rubbed with my setup it has been because of the width of my 285's on 16x7 stock wheels.

I THINK you will be fine with the narrower tire.

that should fit on the trails and every else you want. I put 34x10.50 swamper ltb on my 97 tacoma with a 1.5 lift and they fit but i had to cut away at my wheel wels and every thing is working fine it rubs ocasionally when i hit something going fast down the trails but you should be fine. What name brand are they. any ho you should be fine if worst comes to wors you will just half to cut a little away at the wheel wel it wont really be noticeable can u really tell on mine.

Thanks for being the one to ask this! I've been debating on a taller/narrower tire setup myself and didn't find much in my searches so I gave up. You have a taco so I'm guessing the same lift with coils may work.

Mike I will definetly post some pics once I get the tires on and report on how they work on and off road. I ordered them from 4wheelparts (really good deal, $440 for 4 tires and free shipping! but they needed to order them from BFG cause they didnt have them in stock. they should be on in a couple weeks.

Put them on and see how they fit. If they rub, trim/hammer whatever rubs so that it doesn't rub. If that fails, a mild body lift may help:

Thanks! If I went that route and if I rub then I'll do as RB says and get a 1" body lift.

Thanks Roger, Thats the plan

A Body lift is a real good idea if needed, but I could see the install being a disaster because of the age of the truck and likely very rusted bolts.

The real issue here is going to be reducing my gear ratio from 4.10 to 3.89
