Powertrax lockers?

Powertrax lockers?

Does anyone have any experience using Powertrax differentials? I am looking at their lockers but not the Lock-Right locker, as my truck sees alot of pavement and I want it to be quite and smooth.

I like the sound of the Powertrax Extreme Traction differential, but with something as touchy as rear gears, I want to know a few people who have used it with positive feedback.

I have the Lock-right in the back of mine, and it's touchy, but once you get used to it, its no big deal. Also I have a 5spd, so it gives you even more feed back on the road.

i wouldn't rule out the lockrite. Ive run mine for two years now, no issues, and yeah the noise and feedback kinda sucks but after a while you wont even notice it anymore

I'm running the no slip in ft. and rear,,, no regrets at all,,, I actually cant tell the rear is in, have never heard it make any noise when turning on pavement,,,,,,, good luck,,

I've heard good things about them. In my case I decided against one because it was nearly as costly as a full Detroit Locker. While some would consider my Lockrite a compromise, it has served me well. I think all 3 are very good products and you really can't go wrong with any of them. Just get locked!! You'll love it.

I like the idea of the no-slip being smoother and quieter, as my truck is mostly pavement with a few weekend trips in the woods and what-not. I think I will go this direction eventually...

I went thru the inexpensive lunchbox locker/selectable decision. Being from an area that gets snow, an auto locker can be a handful (so I have heard). I have also seen a rig on an off camber snow covered trail slip down off the side of the trail while I walked most of the way thru with open/open. I also got into the same jam this year, my dumb fault, locker on slipped sideways untill I turned my ARB locker off. Then I walked right out of the problem.

ARBs cost more and take more to set them up but in my opinion is well worth it.

x2, it is an investment well worth the price. you only need to buy it once.

you also have the aussie locker, which i'm going to be running sometime soon.

I got in an accident in a parking lot (not my fault) and my elocker is making some nasty noises, so I'm taking the opportunity to go to a lunchbox or a detroit.

Arb, elocker.... been there done that..... dissapointed
