I have an overheating problem. I have changed the radiator,water pump, checked the heater core for clog and changed fluid. I'm stuck on why I am still overheating?

 

Just how are you measuring the temperature ??

Auto or manual??

Is the AC condenser Full of dirt??

Just what is over heating ??We hope it is a Toyota be nice to know just what kind??

 

Properly burped?

 

Other causes of overheating may be low coolant level, clogged coolant passages and improper air/fuel mixture or ignition timing.

 

Could be the clutch for the Fan.

 

These engines are very vulnerable to overheating

 

I have used over 6 3rd Gen 4runners over the years and I have never had any overheat. I think it comes down to the maintenance

 

T-stat changed? Coolant leaks? CEL? Broken fan clutches, heard that one too. Head gasket compromised? Too much overheating will lead to that...

But I second ^above. They are not prone to overheating. I had a leaking water pump and low coolant and I somehow made it towing a 3,000 lb car through some grades in WA, OR, and CA. I just made sure not to push it.

I had a recently overheated Honda but it was so quick when it happened. It turned out to be a heater intake hose that bursted. Old, swollen, with oil and deteriorated when I put degreaser on the rubber. My mistake.
