The only other 4Runner with the 5VZ that might be faster is Tragerr's, but he turbo'd his so I dont know if it would be fair to compare. Funny thing is both guys got their work done at the same place, f2uning.

I can't wait to see 1/4 mile times on that beast in spring of 2004. Try to squeeze some more HP out of that thing before the 1/4 mile.

Bumpin' for status!

I know it's not really spring, but I was just curious how the truck's doing these days!

Sweet, has their been any improvements on the trans, is it auto or manual.

Im not familiar with the codes that the Toyota engines go by, is the 5VZ engine the 3.4L V6 from the 3rd Gen cause I read it was pulled apart and all the internals where replaced with better peaces, thats the block but what about the heads are they rebuilt, but then someone posted it was a straight 6 from a supra.

Other things like is it 2wd or 4wd and if 4wd did you strenghten the transfercase and has the driveshaft been made stronger so on hard take off it does not break, does your truck have traction control or can you break the wheels loose.

Very cool, I know if that was mine I would really shock the crap out of some people with nice cars, you know the ones that got fast cars and know it, until

Whats the gas mileage, bet your gonna visit the gas station for premium everyday

I have run around 400hp with 38" tires and have not had a problem with the t-cases. I did have to run D60 axles which have still proven not to be strong enough. I need to go 35 spline or 14bolt. I had a problem with driveshafts unitil I went back to using a toyota CV and a 1350 spicer joint in the rear. I snapped several u-joints until that point destryoing my $300+ drivelines.

I am always a little more careful in 4x4 though, as I am not shure how stong the toyota t-case housing is. Breaking wheels loose was a breeze, even 38" 15.50 swampers.

Gas mileage was an improvement. I used to get 9 mpg with the 3VZ, but after the swap I got 16. I have done other 7MGTE swaps that have got as high as 24 on the highway with 36" tires. Premium fuel is a must.
