noise while rolling

I am hearing this strange noise while my junk is rolling. When its moving forward, there is a metal scraping sorta high pitched like sound coming from the front left. I have 195k on it. Could it be the cvs or halfshafts making the noise. thanks for your help

Brakes would be my first guess, also. My next guess would be a bearing. But I'd put $$ on it being your brakes.

My money would be on the bearing. If it's brakes, it will change when braking or not.
If it IS a bearing - you are in trouble!! Fix it fast! They go fast when they start to go bad and failure can be catastrophic. Nothing like detonating a wheel bearing at 65 mph and having a front wheel lock up.....

But it could be as simple as a rock caught inside the backing plate... look for that first. Jack up the wheel and turn it by hand, find the noise. Don't put it off.

Could be several things. The wear indicator on the front pads may be scraping on the rotor (an audible alert it is time to replace the pads). Or you have a piece of gravel or stone stuck in between the rotor and the debris shield which is making the noise.
